Publication Ethics
JVLE is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publishing process, namely authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher (Ryvo Press), are expected to agree on the following standards.
Duties of Editors
• Evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic merit, relevance to the scope, originality, and clarity, without regard to the authors' race, gender, religion, nationality, institution, or political views.
• Keep all information about submitted manuscripts confidential.
• Declare and avoid conflicts of interest; manuscripts authored by editors are handled by another editor and reviewed independently.
• Take reasonable action when ethical complaints are raised, following COPE flowcharts.
Duties of Reviewers
• Assist the editor in making decisions and help authors improve their manuscripts through objective and constructive feedback.
• Treat manuscripts as confidential documents and not use unpublished material for personal advantage.
• Decline review invitations when they lack the required expertise, cannot meet the deadline, or have a conflict of interest.
• Point out relevant uncited works and report any substantial similarity with other publications.
• Not upload manuscripts into generative AI tools, as this may breach confidentiality.
Duties of Authors
• Submit original work that has not been published and is not under consideration elsewhere.
• Present data accurately; fabrication, falsification, and inappropriate image manipulation are unacceptable.
• Cite all sources properly and avoid plagiarism, including self-plagiarism and redundant publication.
• List as authors only those who made a significant contribution, and describe contributions using the CRediT taxonomy.
• Disclose funding sources and any conflict of interest.
• Obtain ethical approval and informed consent for research involving human participants where required.
• Promptly notify the editor of any significant error found in their published work and cooperate in correcting or retracting it.
Use of Generative AI
Authors may use generative AI tools to improve language and readability, but not to generate scientific content, data, results, or references without verification. AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Any use of AI must be declared in the manuscript, and authors remain fully responsible for the content.
Duties of the Publisher
Ryvo Press supports editorial independence, ensures the long-term preservation of published content, and, together with the editors, publishes corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when necessary.
Handling of Misconduct
Suspected misconduct (plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate submission, authorship disputes, or citation manipulation) will be investigated according to COPE guidelines. Confirmed misconduct may result in rejection, retraction, and notification to the authors' institutions. Concerns may be reported to jvle@ryvopress.com.
